We, the Dunellen Education Association (DEA), represent 140 members, including teachers, counselors, nurses, paraprofessionals, school therapists/specialists, child study team, secretaries, athletic trainer, and athletic director in Dunellen Public Schools. The DEA upholds the contracts the association negotiates with the Board of Education, and advocates for its members’ professional rights.
In addition, the DEA supports many projects and activities that benefit our schools, students, and community. During this current 2020-21 school year, we have/will sponsor both the PTO’s Tricky Tray event and Project Graduation’s celebration event. In addition, we will also donate graduation banners to the Seniors and 8th Graders, as well as thank our district janitors with a sponsored lunch for their incredible work. Our members have also donated towards the annual DEA Scholarship Fund to be awarded during graduation.
Studies show that strong professional associations such as the DEA effectively advocate for their students and communities. School districts with strong professional associations like the DEA also have better educational outcomes for students. We are proud of the work we do in Dunellen and we are proud to be a strong partner in public education!
