We, the Dunellen Education Association (DEA), represent 140 members, including teachers, counselors, nurses, paraprofessionals, school therapists/specialists, child study team, secretaries, athletic trainer, and athletic director in Dunellen Public Schools. The DEA upholds the contracts the association negotiates with the board of education, and advocates for its members’ professional rights.
In addition, the DEA supports many projects and activities that benefit our schools, students, and community. Through the NJEA Pride program, we have funded the 2020 graduation banners for Dunellen seniors and 8th graders. Furthermore, our annual DEA Scholarship Fund awarded during graduation is made possible by the donations of our members.
Studies show that strong professional associations such as the DEA effectively advocate for their students and communities. School districts with strong professional associations like the DEA also have better educational outcomes for students. We are proud of the work we do in Dunellen and we are proud to be a strong partner in public education!
